Today, the curtain has come down on the performances of the third Youth Monodrama Festival, with the last show “A Laughing Man’s Dream” based on a novel by Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky and directed by Houssam El Din Kharboutli on the stage of the National Book House in Aleppo.
Muhammad Hegazy, director of the National Book House, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the director of the work was able to cut a section from the Russian author’s novel and prepare it as a beautiful preparation that won the approval of the audience, who applauded warmly, emphasizing the beauty and importance of the show, pointing out that work is underway to provide everything useful and beautiful to upgrade the theater in the city. Aleppo at the level of the cultural arena.
And the director of the work indicated that his idea talks about a man who collapses a young girl in the side of the road and regrets it, then decides to commit suicide, dreaming that he moved to a second land free of any pollution or any sin and somehow sows sin in the second land.
In a panel discussion that followed the show, actress Iman Al-Ghouri praised the show “The Dream of a Laughing Man,” noting its integration in terms of the elements employed in the correct form.
The results of the festival will be announced in a special ceremony on the 6th of this month.
