A new study revealed that a large number of white-tailed deer were infected with the new Corona virus in Iowa in the American Midwest.
The New York Times reported that the study, supervised by Pennsylvania State University, showed that up to 80 percent of the deer sampled between April of 2020 and January of 2021 in the state were infected.
The study indicated that the spread of infection between these species could make it more difficult to eradicate the pathogen, especially if it became a reservoir of mutations that eventually transmitted to humans.
The authors of the study asked deer hunters and others who interact with these animals to take the necessary precautions to avoid transmission.
