Like the active, retirees receiving less than 2,000 euros net per month will be able to receive the exceptional aid announced by the government. The ceiling was initially set for them at 1943 euros.

The government has revised its copy for retirees.

The “

inflation compensation

” announced by Prime Minister Jean Castex on October 21 to compensate for the rise in prices should concern all French people earning less than 2,000 euros.

With the exception of retirees whose ceiling had been reduced to 1943 euros.

Indeed, to identify retirees receiving a pension of less than 2,000 euros, Matignon had chosen to use the rate of general social contribution as a benchmark. The services of Bercy and the Prime Minister had decided that only those who do not pay the CSG at the full rate, ie 8.3%, would be eligible for “

inflation compensation

”.

But this full rate applies to retirees with a benchmark tax income of 23,147 euros or more, i.e. at least 1943 euros net per month.

Retirees receiving between 1943 euros and 2000 euros would therefore not have received the premium of 100 euros.

"

We turned to this calculation option because it appeared to us to be the simplest and the fastest to set up since the objective of the inflation compensation is to pay it quickly

", explains du next to Matignon.

A calculation solution has been found

But another calculation solution seems to have been found to be able to identify all retirees receiving less than 2,000 euros in order to pay them the bonus since in its press kit of November 3, the government does indeed specify that "

the allowance inflation will be paid to beneficiaries of the minimum old age or of a retirement pension of less than 2000 euros net per month residing in France, and who were not in activity in October

”.

More retirees will therefore be able to receive the premium of 100 euros.

The Prime Minister's services have not yet explained how they would proceed to identify the retirees concerned, but "

the accounting solution has been found

", they told Matignon.

On the side of the CFDT Retraites, there is no doubt.

They will use the EIRR directory (inter-pension scheme exchanges), where each pension fund registers the pensions paid and which makes it possible to know what each retiree touches.

If Bercy and Matignon had contacted the Ministry of Solidarity, they would have known that this directory existed especially since it had already been used in 2014 to pay the Valls premium of 40 euros,

Ultimately, retirees will benefit from assistance through their pension fund, and will receive it in February 2022. It is the level of the pension received in October 2021 that will be taken into account to determine whether retirees are eligible. to the inflation allowance.

Resources will be assessed on the basis of the amount of basic and supplementary retirement pensions (eg AGIRC-ARRCO), including survivors' pensions.
