Oberschleißheim

- For years to come, the new Schleissheim industrial park should be opened up via St.-Hubertus-Straße.

This does not apply to Veterinärstraße.

The historic avenue on the LMU campus is primarily intended to give way to public transport.

Since the municipal council debate about the plans for the industrial area "south of the B471" two weeks ago, the story of a development from the west cannot be maintained.

Like the town hall, investor “Asto” would prefer to see the 15 hectares connected via the planned bypass.

To date, however, no substitute has been found for the insolvent planner of the bypass.

"There is no schedule."

In an open letter to the town hall, the citizens' initiative founded in the fight for the trees in Veterinärstraße, the Bund Naturschutz and ÖDP express their concern that plans for an emergency development could start, that the historic avenue would be sacrificed to pressure, as well as Always guarantee a connection without checking alternatives.

Mayor Markus Böck (CSU) does not rule out that the first trees on the south side of the avenue could fall in winter. Friederike Forster from the BI “Climate and Nature Conservation Schleißheim” had heard that the development plan to be published soon no longer provided for an avenue. Böck referred to discussions with the LMU about urban development contracts. It depends on when the expansion of the veterinary road is to begin. Böck: "There is no schedule." The mayor is annoyed that the development of the industrial area and campus is all too often lumped together: "These are two pairs of shoes." Accordingly, the industrial area should be accessed via St. Hubertus Straße the B 471 will be connected. "The Veterinärstraße has nothing to do with it." The expansion plans for the Veterinärstraße are being pursued,to strengthen public transport. In the interests of local traffic calming, students and campus employees want to be chauffeured with buses. Trees would have to give way because oncoming buses get stuck.

BI: MVV and LMU do not insist on expansion

BI continues to emphasize that neither MVV nor LMU insist on expanding the road.

Proposals for the preservation of the avenue, such as modified timetables and alternative bays, would certainly be rated more favorably without pressure for development.

Friederike Forster is convinced of that.

The BI cannot be dissuaded from the fact that the commercial traffic is to be directed over the Veterinärstraße to Sonnenstraße in the direction of Munich and to the autobahns.

Böck is sticking with it: In a transitional phase, the industrial park should at best be handled via St.-Hubertus-Straße.

“The main development is via the bypass from the west.” It will be years, possibly decades, however, until the time has come to forego alternative development via St. Hubertus.

Böck sees no contradiction in this: Asto wants to take the time to equip the industrial park with tenants.

Five to ten years are given as the house number.

This gives the community time to bypass.
