The firefighting teams of the Directorate of Agriculture in Lattakia, with the support of the Fire Brigade and Civil Defense, and the participation of an army helicopter, were able to put out the fire that broke out in the woods of Wadi Al-Masis in the countryside of Al-Haffah, after continuous efforts that lasted about 10 hours and entered the cooling stage.
Director of Lattakia Agriculture, Engineer Basem Doba, told SANA reporter that the fire broke out in a harsh rocky cliff area that is difficult for vehicles to reach, which forced the firefighters to extend water cannons for long distances.
Doba indicated that heavy vehicles belonging to a number of public authorities close to the site of the fire were involved in supporting the extinguishing operations, pointing out that 12 firefighting vehicles of the Directorate participated in the extinguishing operations, 3 mechanisms of the Latakia Fire Brigade and the same for the Civil Defense, in addition to 11 fire brigades.
