The Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform of the General Authority for Remote Sensing announced that most of the forest areas in northwestern Syria are affected by moderate levels of the fire severity index, with a slight increase in the next two days.
The platform's chairwoman, Dr. Rosa Qaramuka, explained to SANA that the indicators of medium fire risk affect most of the forest sites in northwest Syria today, while the indicators rise in some sites tomorrow, Saturday, and the day after tomorrow, Sunday.
It called for not starting any fires and reporting any fire as soon as it breaks out on the toll-free numbers 188 and 113.
