Because the PCR tests, which the 3G-Plus rule will require of unvaccinated persons from tomorrow for access to restaurants, hotels and body-friendly services, are almost exclusively given to people in the district by their family doctor.

According to Meier, the main reason for the limited supply is that PCR tests are evaluated in laboratories.

Almost only medical practices are connected to these.

Most pharmacies could hardly do this.

Currently, only the Marienapotheke in Holzkirchen offers PCR tests in the district.

However, he is not allowed to offer chargeable tests.

Meier: "The primary contact remains the family doctor."

That could lead to times of particularly high demand, says Meier: If you want to eat out on Saturday or Sunday, you have to be tested on Friday.

Dinner on Sundays remains out of reach for the unvaccinated: Even tests from Friday afternoons are then older than the permitted 48 hours.

Commercial PCR test centers such as those in Munich, which are usually also open on Saturdays, could help in these cases.

Meier does not believe that similar centers will be established in the district: “The demand is too low for that.” So if you absolutely need a valid PCR test on Sunday evening, you have to drive a long way.

The situation is different with the rapid tests required from Saturday for almost all workplaces.

These are available in sufficient quantities, says Meier.

Most companies would have procured them anyway.
