In the 2021/22 season there should be another real carnival in Penzberg.

The Organizing Committee (OK) Penzberger Fasching is determined to do this.

Now the dates for balls and the like have been set - and also the rules under which the party is to take place.

The start of the foolish time is traditionally November 11th.

Penzberg

- The OK Penzberger Fasching was unable to celebrate its 50th anniversary last year due to the corona pandemic.

In general, the entire 2020/21 carnival season was massively slowed down by the virus.

At most, balls and guards meetings could take place online (we reported).

In the upcoming season, those responsible for the OC would like to celebrate normal, analogue carnival in the city again - but certain rules have to be adhered to, says Holger Fey when asked.

"If carnival, then only with the 3Gplus rule"

Internally, it has long been considered whether the club would like to organize a carnival under these guidelines, because: “We don't want to exclude anyone.” The upcoming season is also difficult to estimate financially.

On the other hand: "We want to celebrate Carnival again in Penzberg."

So, in the past few days, the OC officials have set the first important course for this carnival: An infection protection concept for the town hall has been drawn up and the first permits have been obtained from the district office in Weilheim.

The dates for balls and the like were also set.

It starts traditionally on November 11th with a little carnival prelude on the Penzberg town hall square.

The small ceremony in the open air begins at 10 a.m., says Fey.

Bring proof of test and your identity card

The actual proclamation ball will then take place on Saturday, November 13th, in the town hall. The 3Gplus rule will apply to this ball, at which the guards as well as the prince couples and the court will be presented. Means: Only those who have been vaccinated or recovered or who have a negative PCR test will be admitted. Security personnel in front of the hall will strictly control, emphasizes Fey. Guests would therefore have to bring their vaccination or test certificate as well as their identity card with them. Because of the regular tests at the schools, students are generally considered to have been tested.

The OK decided in favor of "3Gplus" because you can then dance in the hall.

You don't have to wear a mask and the bar is also allowed, explains Fey.

None of this would be permitted with “3G” alone.

Presumably, the 3Gplus rule will also apply to the following balls and guards meetings in the town hall as well as to “Gaudi without borders” on February 25th in the gym at the former wave pool.

Is it even possible to celebrate Mardi Gras like this?

But Fey doesn't want to think that far ahead yet.

First of all, you want to see how things are going at the first ball on November 13th.

Of course, the OK is aware that the pandemic could quickly put an end to the foolish goings-on. Of course, one has the increasing incidences in view, emphasizes Fey. At the moment, the OK is assuming that Mardi Gras can be celebrated. Therefore, the first contracts between the club and bands, for example, are to be concluded in the next few days. The association would only get out of these contracts if the carnival was called off by a political order.

The rules that will apply to the Gaudiwurm, which will take place on February 27, have not yet been determined, said Fey.

The only thing that is certain is: “We want to do it.” But is it possible to celebrate Carnival in a relaxed manner in view of such requirements?

"Yes, absolutely," Fey is sure.

He is convinced that many people really want to celebrate Carnival again this year.

"I assume that it is rumbling."
