Werder Bremen celebrated an important away win in the 2nd Bundesliga.
With two late goals from Niklas Füllkrug (80th) and Leonardo Bittencourt (88th), the first division relegated won 2-1 (0-1) at 1. FC Nürnberg on Friday evening.
The two hits not only rewarded a strong and committed performance by Bremen, but also restored the connection to the top positions in the table for the time being after three games without a win.
Nuremberg - Nikola Dovedan had put Nuremberg in front of 25,000 spectators in the 19th minute.
For a long time Werder's appearance had only one shortcoming: the exploitation of the opportunities.
The strong FCN goalkeeper Christian Mathenia parried the shots of Marvin Ducksch (10th), Manuel Mbom (15th) and two times Romano Schmid (42nd / 54th).
Ducksch hit the post with a free kick in the 70th minute.
The Bremen team never gave up, however, and coach Markus Anfang also showed a lucky hand: He did not change winning goal scorer Bittencourt until the 63rd minute.
