Waakirchner fire station: haggling over the start of solar energy

Waakirchen - The Greens parliamentary group in the Waakirchen municipal council started a discussion on the photovoltaic system on the roof of the fire brigade.

Waakirchen - The Greens parliamentary group in the Waakirchen municipal council started a discussion on the photovoltaic system on the roof of the fire brigade.

The Waakirchner fire brigade has moved to its new quarter in Hauserdörfl. After only 14 months of construction, the property offers modern amenities. Waakirchen is also moving with the times in terms of energy and had a heater with an air-heat pump installed. These and other systems in the building are also to be operated with solar energy in the near future. Photovoltaic modules are planned on the large south roof. However, a discussion broke out in the local council about the timing of the installation.

Before the photovoltaic system (PV) is decided and installed, the actual energy consumption of the building over the first year of use should be determined.

Mayor Norbert Kerkel informed the municipal council about this in the September meeting.

Cornelia Riepe and Evi Obermüller (both Greens) seem to be too long.

In October they applied for the budget to be planned in now and for the installation to go ahead.

Own use and memory size open

According to experts, the most important manipulated variables such as personal requirements and required storage capacity should first be observed, reported Mayor Kerkel.

In addition, the municipality expects the newly formed federal government to make more funding available.

"As of today, no decision makes sense," said Kerkel, referring to the upcoming budget discussions.

However, the reasons given for waiting did not make sense to Riepe and Obermüller.

They used the district office's solar potential cadastre as an order of magnitude and brought into play an estimated cost of around 60,000 euros for the PV system and around 40,000 euros for the storage system, which could be amortized in ten to twelve years.

Make a decision at the end of 2022

"If we wait, the overall costs will rise and have been rising steadily for years," warned Riepe.

In addition, the monthly feed-in tariff falls and it takes longer for the system to pay off.

Riepe and Obermüller would therefore prefer to have the sparrow in their hands now: “We don't want to gamble.” As an alternative resolution to their application, they finally proposed to have a letter of intent with the addition approved by the committee as soon as possible.

Erwin Welzmiller (CSU) warned against a quick shot and does not believe that the costs will increase so explicitly.

It is not expedient to act without the exact consumption.

A PV system is needed that is designed precisely for this building, said Welzmiller.

Therefore, the decision is only appropriate at the end of 2022.

Gisela Hölscher (FW) emphasized that the funding programs have always been sufficient so far.

Argument: Tegernsee already further

Evi Obermüller then referred to the city of Tegernsee, which had already decided before the completion of the new fire station to equip the maximum area of the building with a PV system.

In addition, she has already been approached several times by citizens, why there is no PV system on the Waakirchner fire station.

Several other requests to speak from almost all political groups also advised waiting for the key figures.

The fact that PV modules are being put on the roof was generally not called into question.

Finally, Mayor Kerkel suggested taking up the topic again in the April 2022 meeting and asking the municipality's energy and climate protection officer to do so, which was unanimously decided.

Commander thanks

The Waakirchen fire fighters are completely satisfied with their new operations center.

Commandant Stefan Britz thanked the community council on behalf of his troops with a sincere blessings and praised the commitment of the incumbent and the old community council as well as the open ear of the community administration.

"We really appreciate the fact that everything is straightforward when it comes to fire services," said Britz.

With the other equipment that follows, you are really well positioned.

Mayor Norbert Kerkel emphasized that the commitment is not a one-way street and praised the good cooperation with the fire brigade.
