The participants of the Syrian Association for Exploration and Documentation (I am the Syrian) organized a tourist-documentary trip to the historical city of Palmyra.
During the visit, the participants were briefed on the most prominent monuments in the city and its ancient civilization, which were destroyed as a result of the attacks of the terrorist organization (ISIS) before it was defeated from the region.
The participants, who numbered about 130 volunteers from most of the Syrian governorates, toured the Palmyra National Museum, the famous Temple of Bel, the Great Arch of Triumph, the ancient Palmyra Theatre, the Street of Columns and Altatrabel, in addition to the historical Afqa spring site, which was the reason for human gathering and the secret of life in this region.
Khaled Noelati, a formation leader in the association, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the purpose of the trip was to document the city’s history, especially the sites destroyed by terrorism, and to convey the realistic image in a professional manner, drawing attention to this city regarding taking the best measures to improve the city’s reality, pointing to the need to provide all necessary services to it.
A number of participants pointed out that their visit aims to see the landmarks of the city, which is considered the jewel of the East, in addition to recording notes on the historical monuments damaged by terrorism to contribute to its reconstruction.
