Markus Söder (CSU): More regulations in view of rising corona numbers

The Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) has spoken out in favor of 3G compulsory in companies.
The background to this is the rapidly increasing corona numbers.
"It is mandatory to have 3G in the workplace all over Germany," said Söder to the newspapers of the Funke media group.
This means that only those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered or those who have tested negative would have access to companies.
Employers should also have the right "to ask whether the employees have been vaccinated or have taken a test," explained Söder.
The "current data protection situation" is "not appropriate" and makes the fight against Corona more difficult.
At the same time, he increased the pressure on the Standing Vaccination Commission, which recommends a booster vaccination only for people over 70.
"It would help if the Standing Vaccination Commission made a general booster recommendation," said Söder.
"A refresher must be possible for everyone who needs and wants it."
Söder demanded that rapid tests should be offered again on a larger scale free of charge.
He also spoke out in favor of a nationwide corona traffic light.
"Wherever we have hotspots and the health system is threatened with overload, significantly more 2G is necessary than before," he said.
2G means that there is only access to buildings or events for those who have been vaccinated or recovered.
Söder appealed to the German Ethics Council to reconsider compulsory vaccinations for nursing staff.
"I would ask the Ethics Council to take another fundamental look at the question of mandatory vaccination."
The seven-day incidence rose to just under 184 across Germany, as the Robert Koch Institute announced on Saturday morning.
That means: 184 out of 100,000 people were infected with the coronavirus within a week.
