Greta Tonberg: "Climate Conference - Failure" Israel today

Young climate activist Greta Tonberg sharply criticized the Glasgow International Climate Conference yesterday (Friday) in a protest event, stating that "it is no secret that this is a failure."

"We can not solve the crisis with the same methods that put us in the first place," she said.

She argued that the COP26 conference was "a public relations event, in which leaders deliver beautiful speeches and announce glorious commitments and goals, while governments in global northern countries refuse to take any drastic climatic action".

As you may recall, Tonberg (18) first made headlines in August 2018, after organizing a demonstration near the Swedish parliament to stop global warming.

Since then, she has swept supporters around the world, speaking at the UN, becoming Time's Woman of the Year and being included in Forbes' list of the 100 most influential women.

The conference, which is attended by tens of thousands from around the world, including country leaders and environmental activists, will close on November 12.

During the conference, more than 100 heads of state pledged to halt deforestation and destruction by 2030. The countries, which cover more than 85% of the world's forests, will invest $ 19 billion in defending and rehabilitating forests.
