With great dismay, patients, colleagues, employees, athletes and musicians friends responded on Friday to the news of the surprising death of the well-known Tölz physician Dr.

Franz Kremser reacts.

He died unexpectedly on Thursday at the age of 68.

Bad Tölz / Königsdorf

- The surgeon and sports doctor was "an absolute institution" in Bad Tölz, describes one of his patients. Kremser was born in Bad Tölz in 1953 and grew up in Königsdorf. There he also attended elementary school, then went to high school in Bad Tölz and, after graduating from high school, studied medicine in Munich. As a specialist in surgery, Kremser worked for several years at the Harlaching Clinic, also as an emergency doctor in the helicopter crew team, reports his brother Karl Kremser.

In 1989 the doctor wanted to go back home: he took over a practice in Tölzer Nockhergasse and quickly built up a large patient base.

In 2009 he then moved into the practice rooms of the “Surgical Practice in the Oberland” on the premises of the Asklepios Clinic and was always in close contact with the Tölz hospital.

Ten years later, in 2019, Kremser took over the medical management of the newly founded Medical Care Center (MVZ) from Asklepios.

He only handed over this task to Susanne Reizel in January this year.

Franz Kremser remained an important part of the practice team and took care of the patients.

Asklepios Clinic: Doctors and employees in mourning

"The sudden death of Dr. Kremser hit us deeply, ”says Felix Rauschek, Managing Director of the Asklepios City Clinic Bad Tölz. He describes the Königsdorfer as "one of the defining figures of the established medical profession in Bad Tölz and in the region". The news of the death of the popular doctor shocked her and the practice team, says Susanne Reizel, Kremmer's successor as Medical Director of the MVZ: “His positive and human way of dealing with patients and employees as well as his experience and professional competence have always been exemplary for us. We are losing an excellent doctor, a valued colleague and friend. We will miss him. "

The news of the death of the popular doctor spread like wildfire in Bad Tölz on Friday. No wonder, because Franz Kremser was very active. In his youth he was a passionate footballer for TSV Königsdorf. Later he discovered paragliding for himself and did his laps over the Isarwinkel. The surgeon also enjoyed traveling in the mountains on a mountain bike. “Most recently, he started stand-up paddling,” says Karl Kremser. But his brother was also an excellent piano player, and he was particularly enthusiastic about jazz. “And he learned to play the saxophone as an adult.” His brother also enjoyed traveling, reports Karl Kremser. Many experiences had been made in Mongolia, Iceland and Calabria.Soon, too, his brother and his partner wanted to do something again. Above all, reports Karl Kremser, one thing stood for his brother: "He loved his patients."

The rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, November 10th, at 7 p.m. in the parish church in Königsdorf.

The Requiem will also be celebrated there on Thursday, November 11th, at 10 a.m.
