A private car in Ngau Tau Kok evaded the police. After escaping about 1 kilometer, it was stopped by police officers. The police officer pulled out a telescopic baton for alert. The driver of the private car was arrested on his knees on the ground.

At about 11 pm yesterday (6th), an Audi private car turned around on the double white line off Jordan Valley North Road in Ngau Tau Kok. It was suspected of violating traffic regulations. A passing traffic policeman saw this and immediately stepped forward to stop the car. For the private car, the driver immediately speeded up and fled, and the traffic police immediately pursued it.

The Audi private car fled along the direction of Ngau Tau Kok Road. After chasing for nearly 1 km, when the private car drove to the Luen On Street roundabout, it was stopped by the traffic police who rushed to it. The male driver in the car got out of the car and attempted to escape. The police officer issued an verbal warning. He immediately stepped forward and arrested the driver.

During the period, the police officer pulled out the telescopic baton for security, while the private car driver knelt on the ground, put his hands on his head and was arrested.


During the pursuit, the private car once rammed into a rock on the side of the road, and the car on its right was slightly damaged.

It is understood that the police found two packets of suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle. The 27-year-old driver surnamed Kwong was arrested on suspicion of violating double white line road markings, possession of drugs, driving without a driving license and failing to produce identification documents.

According to the police, officers from the Enforcement and Control Section of the Transport Department of the East Kowloon Region were patrolling North Jordan Valley Road in Ngau Tau Kok at about 11:30 pm yesterday (6th) when they found a private car to turn around illegally on the double white line and stepped forward. It was intercepted and searched, but the private car failed to stop as instructed and drove away from the scene.

The officers then stepped forward to chase, and finally stopped the private car at Lian'an Street in Sau Mau Ping.

A 27-year-old male driver surnamed Kwong got out of the car and attempted to escape. The officer issued a verbal warning and guarded him with a baton, eventually subduing the man.

Police officers later seized a small amount of suspected "ice" in the vehicle.

The officer then performed a rapid oral fluid test and an alcohol test, and the results were negative and zero respectively.

The male driver was arrested on suspicion of violating double white line road markings, possession of drugs, failing to carry a driving license while driving and failing to produce identification documents.

During the investigation, officers discovered that the male driver was also involved in four traffic crimes wanted by the court earlier.

The case was handed over to Sau Mau Ping Police District for follow-up.

The arrested man is now being detained for investigation.
