Near the dive sites and a beach laden with bathers, the ship fired at the water • Apparently it was a suspicious object and on the order of a senior commander he was neutralized by gunfire • A worker who stayed at the scene: "The whole beach is on its feet"

A very unusual event in Eilat:

The navy ship fired today (Saturday) on the southern shore of the Gulf of Eilat near diving sites and in front of a beach full of bathers and frightened the vacationers.

Apparently the cause of the incident is the identification of a suspicious object and on the order of a senior commander he is neutralized by the shooting.

It should be noted that daily naval vessels conduct reed testing and firing out of territorial waters as part of daily training.

This time the shooting took place in front of the coral reserve in Eilat and close to the beach and the shots were heard well and could be seen from the beach.

Nitzan Faraj, who works at the beach, said that she is used to seeing the Navy's reed test, but this time the shots were heard all over the beach and they also saw the shooting in the water.

"Usually the shooting is done in a different direction, this time the ship fired closer to shore and we actually heard the shots and saw the water bouncing when the bullets hit the water. The whole shore got up on its feet to see and there were some who got scared."

Sources in the IDF claim that there was no incident in Eilat and that there was probably a suspect file and they shot him. The sources said that nothing problematic was found in the suspect's object.

The IDF Spokesman's response will be provided when received
