The makers of the referendum feel confused.

Because: The 3918 square meters of space for the old Wiedemann Clinic are mentioned on the municipality's website.

Münsing

- It was actually to be expected: In the aftermath of the special session on the planned senior citizens' home in Ambach, there are debates about the number 3918. The old Wiedemann Clinic allegedly covered so many square meters, and the new building should not be larger - so the central demand .

But this number is not known to him and also not reliable, countered Mayor Michael Grasl in the meeting.

Instead, he arranged for a new measurement of the area, which resulted in 5060 square meters.

The municipal council adopted this number unanimously.

From now on, it quantifies the maximum area for the senior citizen housing.

To put it bluntly: The referendum had come to nothing.

The Ambacher author and singer Anatol Regnier cannot and does not want to leave that behind.

He and his fellow campaigners had collected 431 signatures over the past few weeks, not just in Ambach, but in the entire community.

He is now under suspicion of having persuaded the citizens to sign by unfair means.

"The fact that we are supposed to have operated with fantasy numbers is a serious accusation," he wrote in an open letter to the mayor.

In it he makes it clear that the number was communicated by the community itself - on its own homepage.

It goes back to a plan by the architectural office Matteo Thun & Partners from March 23, 2021. There it says: “Floor area - consisting of 3917.96 square meters, floor area - new building 4687.20 square meters.” Hence Regnier's question: “Can you contact us make a statement about your statement? "

Mayor Michael Grasl is contrite.

"I admit and regret that the number was used in the pronouncements of the congregation and in the official documents of interpretation," he said.

It is currently being examined how the - factually incorrect - number could get there.

As soon as this is known, the municipal council and the public will be informed.

"We will not leave anyone in the dark."

CSU stands behind the senior citizens' housing fund

The Münsinger CSU is behind the senior citizens' home in Ambach. Local chairman Martin Ehrenhuber wrote in a press release that “emotional moods arose” during the referendum, which created “improper headwinds”. "The Münsinger Christsozialen advocate the establishment by the non-profit organization Kuratorium Wohnen im Alter in the scope and size, as it brought about citizen participation and as the municipal council decided with a large majority on the development plan in March 2021." CSU councilor Helge Strauss emphasizes : "The compromise found is a minimal solution so that the senior citizens' home with additional services that are also accessible to the general public - day care, swimming pool, kiosk - is possible." His council colleague Thomas Schurz adds: "We are happythat with KWA we have a partner who not only has profit in mind, but also thinks in the interests of our community. "

However, the town hall chief also says that the number has no legal significance. It is not mentioned in the articles of association or in the plan drawing. As Regnier rightly complained, it can be found on a sketch by the Italian architectural office, where it actually has no place. "If the lead office Goergens had noticed the number, it would" of course have intervened, "said Grasl. An inquiry to Matteo Thun how they came up with the number is ongoing. "It can be strongly assumed that the famous apples were compared with pears there."

Be that as it may, the result of an exact measurement is now available, and for Grasl that means: “The number is obsolete anyway.” What is certain is that the dispute over the darned 3918 will have no effect on the plan drawing and the text of the articles of association.

The same applies to the referendum, which the town hall chief regards as "done".

“The project must and will now be subordinate to the existing structure.

That, too, is a good result that everyone wanted. "
