The Buchenhof in Geretsried was a good address for around 20 years: locals and non-residents liked to come to Haydnweg 4 to stop off in the small garden or in the cozy guest room.
Geretsried - Konrad Zakersnik, the landlord, prepared grill and Balkan specialties for his customers in the former bunker building.
Joachim Mattis remembers the landlord well.
He was a "very stately figure", always friendly with wit and charm.
The food - Yugoslavian and German was cooked - was good.
“Outside there was often a whole pig grilled over charcoal,” Mattis looks back.
“I was his engine and was allowed to turn it for hours on a three-meter-long and six to eight-centimeter thick wooden rod,” adds Geretsrieder, who was born in Geretsrieder.
However, he only did it once.
"That was enough for me as a boy."

Inside, a restaurant with flair: In addition to seating areas, there was a stage and a dance floor.

For several years the Buchenhof was a popular meeting place in the musicians' quarter. Mattis: "This is where Geretsried life in the south of the city took place." Mardi Gras balls and other events took place in the hall. The Motorsport Club (MSC), for example, held its founding meeting there on September 11, 1970. “The young people met to dance in the hall at the weekend,” reported the now deceased former building authority manager Martin Walter once in an interview with our newspaper. "Musicians performed on a small stage, there was a small dance floor in the middle and seating around it," said Geretsrieder. "That was the in-bar."
In September 1979 the economy closed its doors forever.
The building was demolished and replaced by residential houses.
The new owner, Immobau, built a semi-detached house, three terraced houses and two single-family houses there.
