Firefighters in Syracuse, New York, rescued this Friday a man who had been trapped inside the wall of a theater, after the employees of the place called 911 when they heard that a person hit the wall yelling for help, the department reported.
Agents said the 39-year-old was trapped in a space inside the men's bathroom wall and was completely naked, CNN affiliate WSTM reported.
The man is believed to have entered the Landmark Theater two to three days ago, the Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
What's unclear, they explained, is how he got into the area behind the wall.
According to the affiliate's report, the man got into a crawl space and then couldn't get out.
The theater's executive director, Mike Intaglietta, said that when the man entered the building Tuesday, employees asked him if he was from there, but he passed by and continued to the bathroom, according to WSTM.
The employees looked for him and, since they could not find him, they thought that he had left the place.
The man was taken to a hospital after being rescued.

Firefighters drilled a hole in the wall and "used a fiber optic camera to determine its exact location and the best way to remove it," the department explained.

To free it, they cut several layers of plaster and clay tiles.
They treated him and he was transferred to a hospital.
His current status is unknown, according to information from the department.
WSTM said that according to police, the man appeared to be suffering from mental illness and no charges will be brought against him.
