Two 16-year-old high school students in Iowa have been charged with the murder of their 66-year-old teacher, Nohama Gerber.

Her body was found hidden in a park in the southeast of the country.

Nohama Gerber, a Spanish teacher at Fairfield High School, was declared missing Tuesday.

Her body was found that day in Chaotokwa Park in Fairfield, hiding under a tarp and a wheelbarrow and suffering a head injury.

Willard Noble Chayden Miller and Jeremy Everett Goodyle, both students at the school where she taught, were charged with murder.

Although both are minors, they will be tried as adults.

Prior to the murder, Gooddale posted details about the planning on social media.

No motive is currently known, and the two defendants are being held in jail on $ 1 million bail.

Miller testified that he was in the park at the time of the murder, provided "materials used to carry it out" and helped hide the body.

The murdered woman's son, Christian Gerber, posted on Facebook that he forgave those who killed his mother.

"She was an angel and one of the best souls," he said.

His sister, Nohama Marie Gerber, wrote that "we had the wonderful luck of growing up in a home filled with an abundance of warmth and love."

Jefferson County District Attorney Patrick J. McAven said that "at this point, we have no evidence" whether the murder was committed on racial grounds.

"The well-being of our students and staff is our top priority," the school said in a statement.
