In the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano, on the Spanish island of La Palma, white fragments with a vesicular or porous texture appeared that generated different interpretations among researchers.
According to the samples collected by members of the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain, these are fragments with high contents of silicon oxide and variable amounts of aluminum and potassium.
