The number of licensed agricultural nurseries in Hama has reached 400, distributed over an area of ​​more than two thousand dunums, most of which are concentrated in the orchards of Al-Jajiyah and Al-Daheriya in the city of Hama, Al-Shehah, Kafr Al-Tun, Qamhana, Zur Al-Bunduq, Zur Serihin, Zur Al-Uwaijit, and in several areas of the northern, southern and eastern countryside of the governorate.

Bashar Quttil, head of the Agricultural and Flower Nurseries Committee in Hama, told SANA reporter that the nurseries annually produce about 100 million plants of various types of fruit trees, forestry and ornamental trees, plants and flowers, equivalent to 80 percent of the country's production, and provide 10,000 job opportunities.

He added that the plants produced in the governorate’s nurseries are characterized by high quality in terms of species with very carefully selected origins, and permanent technical follow-up to them to ensure that they are free from diseases and good resistance to the prevailing climatic conditions, pointing to the demands of workers in this sector for the need to establish a city for agricultural nurseries, especially that the space required for these The city is estimated at 500 dunams, in addition to compensating the nurseries for the damage they sustained over the past years, providing facilities for marketing the product externally, holding festivals for agricultural nurseries in various regions and governorates, and activating local markets specialized in them.
