At least 19 people died and three were injured on Saturday after a truck collided with a toll booth on the highway that connects Mexico City with Puebla, reported Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) .
The accident occurred at 12:45 pm (local time) at kilometer 33 of the Mexico-Puebla highway, in the direction of Mexico City, when "a cargo truck carrying shampoo base apparently runs out of brakes" and dragged six other vehicles, according to Capufe.
He added that among the deceased is the driver.
The government of the state of Mexico said in a statement that among the dead are two minors.
