"The indictments allege several violations of US law related to the international distribution of controlled substances, including fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana, that occurred over several years," the statement said.

On Friday, the US State Department announced a reward of up to US $ 5 million each for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the four drug traffickers operating in the states of Chihuahua and Sinaloa.

In February 2019, "El Chapo" was convicted of 10 charges, including participation in an ongoing criminal enterprise, conspiracy to launder narcotic proceeds, international distribution of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and other drugs.

The criminal is serving a life sentence in the Supermax prison in Colorado.
