The goals the Ministry of Education seeks to reach through emotional and social education, in addition to promoting a culture of teamwork among students through joint initiatives and projects.

Emotional education is based on four axes: life skills, projects, initiatives, and professional education that the student applies within a classroom activity that measures the learner's performance, intelligence and positive personal development.

The Director of the National Center for the Development of Educational Curricula at the Ministry, Dr. Nadia Al-Ghazouli, stated that emotional and social education provides students with skills that make them qualified to engage in the labor market, and entrenches in them a number of principles that terrorism tried to marginalize, most notably citizenship, belonging and tolerance, indicating that

The main objective of emotional learning is to build the learner's personality to help him make a sound decision and build a generation capable of making the future.

Al-Ghazouli pointed out that emotional education includes a set of ideas that help young people manage themselves through problems, feelings and ideas, enhance their communication with others, and how to form healthy and positive relationships between them, which contributes to the formation of positive ideas for them and enhances their ability to solve all their problems in a correct and effective manner.

On the sidelines of a dialogue workshop organized by the Revolutionary Youth Union in cooperation with the Ministry of Education today for 55 students in the Youth City in Damascus, the young woman, Hala Khaled Hamad from Daraa Governorate, indicated that emotional education provided her with an important skill for life, which is how to properly deal with others and dialogue with them, indicating that they worked from the beginning of the school year on: Apply interactive activities that focus on what they have learned from emotional education through an activity to solve the problem of bullying among students in schools.

From As-Suwayda Governorate, Ghaida El-Sehnawy and Mayar Al-Samarah pointed out that the subject of emotional education adds to them as students different skills that emphasize cooperation between them and enhance the value of empathy and their self-confidence.

Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, said in a statement to SANA that the goal of learning is to involve young people in their issues to strengthen their personality, enhance their self-awareness and social relations among them, and accustom them to dialogue, discussion, problem solving and decision-making, pointing to the students’ interaction with this type of education, as they showed their desire to find solutions. their problems and their objective presentation.

The designated head of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Ali Al-Abbas, stated that the ideas presented by students about emotional education will be taken into consideration for implementation in schools, pointing out the need for learners to realize the importance of this type of education.
