Israel's corona guru opted for booster vaccinations early on
One man is primarily responsible for this: Ronnie Gamzu.
He was appointed as the Israeli government's corona officer shortly after the pandemic began.

In general, Gamzu thinks that a separate Corona officer, an independent expert, is needed in a country in order to be able to master the pandemic - unlike in Germany.
With regard to Germany, too, he believes that many politicians are not up to the situation.
The change in government now makes matters even more difficult.
This is currently leading to "big problems" in corona policy, says Gamzu, who says: "That would have been absolutely avoidable".
In his opinion, more experts are needed in crisis agencies.
In Israel, for example, his reputation as a professor helped him to gain the trust of the population.
