Lebanese President General Michel Aoun condemned the assassination attempt against Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi at dawn today, by targeting his house, considering that this attempt targets stability and security in Iraq.
Aoun said in a statement that this attempt seeks to undermine "the efforts made to strengthen Iraqi national unity, activate the national economy, and provide a decent life for the brotherly Iraqi people."
The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, made a phone call to Al-Kazemi, in which he expressed his rejection and condemnation of this sinister attempt.
In turn, the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati made a phone call to Al-Kazemi, in which he expressed his condemnation of the assassination attempt, wishing "brotherly Iraq continued security and stability."
For its part, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants strongly condemned the attempt to assassinate the Iraqi Prime Minister, stressing Lebanon's support "by Iraq in order to strengthen its unity, sovereignty and independence and to provide calm and prosperity for its brotherly people."
