He was attacked by a 57-year-old stateless person with a sharp object shortly before the shop closed on Saturday at around 7.40 p.m. in a shop on Neuhauser Strasse.
According to the police report, the item is a knife that was found on site.
Witnesses overwhelmed the attacker, who was subsequently arrested by the police officers who were called.
The boy was taken to a hospital seriously injured but his life was not in danger.
Witnesses to the incident had to be attended to by a crisis intervention team.
The 57-year-old will now have to answer for attempted homicide.
He is to be brought before the judge on Sunday.
