The changed Corona regulation has been in effect in Bavaria since today.

The ministerial round had agreed on Wednesday.

But what does that mean for the population now?

Munich - Every day the corona incidence in Bavaria climbs to unprecedented heights. The number of infections is increasing rapidly. On Saturday, November 6th, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported an incidence value of 284 for the Free State - on Friday it was 256.8 and on Thursday 234.8. A total of 9,410 new cases of infection were reported overnight. And also with the so-called Corona hotspots, a lot has happened.

The new, sad leader in Germany is the Rottal-Inn district with a value of 770.1.

The district of Mühldorf am Inn ranks third with 737.4.

The district of Miesbach, which led the list until Friday, slipped to sixth place (644.8).

Stricter corona rules were introduced there before the new regulations came into force.

There are now a total of eleven districts in Bavaria that have exceeded an incidence of 500.

Corona in Bavaria: New rules come into force on Saturday - the hospital traffic light changes to yellow

So it is high time that the tightened rules decided on Wednesday come into force.

And they will do so from today, Saturday - with an impact on the entire Free State.

Because the ministerial round had decided, among other things, that the hospital traffic light - which serves as the basis for the introduction of the applicable rules in Bavaria - does not change to yellow within seven days of 1200 Covid patients.

It now also changes its color when 450 patients have to be treated in Bavarian intensive care units.

This number was exceeded a few days ago.

In the meantime, 541 people need intensive care.

From 600 patients the traffic light would switch to red.

But what does a change to yellow mean?

From Sunday, an increase in safety standards will apply everywhere where the red level has not already been declared regionally anyway.

Where the 3G rule has previously applied - i.e. access for people who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered from Corona or those who have tested negative - the 3G plus rule then applies.

This means that a PCR test is required instead of a rapid test.

The 2G rule even applies in clubs and discos - a negative test is not enough there.

The mask standard will be increased across the board to FFP2.

The access restrictions do not apply to retail and local public transport.

Corona in Bavaria: What happens when the hospital traffic light turns red?

Should the increasing number of infections continue to affect the occupancy of the intensive care units, the hospital traffic light changes to the red level from 600 patients. From then onwards, 2G regulations will largely apply to indoor events. Children under the age of twelve are exempt. Children and adolescents over the age of twelve must then also be vaccinated or have recovered in order to participate in these events. The only exception to the 2G rule is gastronomy. A restaurant visit is also possible with a negative PCR test when the traffic light is red (3G plus). Even body-hugging services - such as a visit to the hairdresser - can still be used with 3G plus.

The red light also interferes in professional life: employees of companies with more than ten employees who have contact with other people - whether colleagues, customers or other groups of people - have to present a negative test twice a week, unless they have been vaccinated or recovered are (3G rule).

Trade and local public transport are excluded from this.

In addition, Bavaria's students will have to study with a mask again from next Monday, regardless of the local incidence.

The tests for schoolchildren are also being intensified.

In the event of an infection in a class, all people in this class will be tested for one week on every school day.
