The Syrian General Book Authority announced the results of its literary prizes for the year 2021, which include Omar Abu Risha for poetry, Hanna Mina for the novel, Sami Al-Droubi for translation, the short story directed at the child, and the Prize for Preserving Arabic Poetry.
The poet Jaber Abu Hussein won first place in the Omar Abu Risha Award for his poem The Carnations Flare, while the second prize was won by Faraj Al Hussein for his poem Hymns of Exile, and Mahmoud Ismail won the third prize for his poem Damascus Pillar of Heaven.
In the Hanna Mina Prize, the first prize was won by Muhammad Al-Taher for his novel A Rendezvous with the Sun, the second was won by Nidaa Hussein for her novel Olga, while the third was won by Ibrahim’s success for her novel The Hot.
As for the Sami Al-Droubi Award for Translation, the first prize was won by the translator Hassan Esber for his dominant and losing work. The translator Ziad Al-Awda came second for his translation and culture work, and the third went to the translator Natalie Tarboush for her work Amazing Wonders.
In the short story award directed to the child, the first prize was won by Arwa Sheikhani for the adventure story Rasma, and the second prize was shared by the two writers Intisar Baalah for the story of a beautiful birthday and Salwa Asaad for the story of the good snowman. The third prize was won by Mays Al-Ani for the story of a diamond trip to the snow city.
In the Prize for Preserving Arabic Poetry, the first place was won by Muhammad Asaad Izz Al-Din Talib, the second was won by Manal Ismail Abdo, and the third place was shared equally between Lujain Abdullah Imran and Mawiyah Imran Tayeb.
The winners of the five prizes will be honored during a ceremony to be scheduled by the Ministry later.
