In Hong Kong, autumn is getting stronger recently, and it's the season of hiking again.

In recent months, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has built a new viewing facility "Sing Yat Terrace" in Shing Mun Reservoir. You can enjoy the scenery of Kwai Chung, Tsing Yi, and Tsuen Wan. The winding shore of the pond is like another "Thousand Island Lake"; when Shing Mun Water When the pond is overflowing, you can even see the "water-soaked Melaleuca" scenery in the distance.

When citizens go on outings in the future, there will be a new "check-in point".

Enjoy Terrace is located on the hillside to the east of Shing Mun Reservoir. The public starts from the No. 13 Picnic Field and walks to the mountain road for about 5 minutes to arrive.

The trails up to the viewing platform were manually paved by the staff of the Fisheries and Conservation Department, and the pavement was also made of natural materials.

The Fisheries and Conservation Department said that since 2019, it has started to improve multiple viewing spots in the Shing Mun Reservoir, including Xiangyi Terrace, Ayutthaya Stone Stream Viewing Spots, and Viewing Spots along Shing Mun Forest Road.

It took nearly two years for the design, site visits, construction and connection of mountain trails to take place at Enjoy Terrace. It was opened to the public in October this year.

The department also followed the original route, using natural materials to manually pave the 660-meter-long trail connecting Heung Yat Terrace and Shing Mun Forest Road.

There is a hexagonal pavilion built on Xiangyi Terrace, which is also surrounded by ponds and verdant mountains.

Not only can you view the winding shores of the pond and the planted forests of Melaleuca from multiple angles, you can also see the scenery of Tai Mo Shan and Kwai Chung from the Heng Yat Terrace. There are several small islands scattered in different places in the pond. The scenery resembles the "Hong Kong version of Thousand Island Lake" at Tai Lam Chung Reservoir.

In terms of transportation, the public can take the green minibus No. 82 from Siu Wo Street in Tsuen Wan to Shing Mun Country Park, and then walk to the mountain road for about 5 minutes after the Shing Mun Pond Path to the Picnic Field No. 13.

Or take public transportation to the "Ke Fung Middle School" bus stop and walk along Shing Mun Road for 15 minutes to reach Shing Mun Country Park, including KMB 32, 36, 40X, 46X, 48X, etc.; and special minibuses 94, 403, etc.
