The veteran rock band has signed documentary series and documentaries, alongside music albums starring lead singer Dave Grohl • "After decades of ridiculous clips on our resume, it's time to finally step up and release a full-length film"

The Po Fighters is considered a particularly active band, with soloist Dave Grohl signing a variety of albums, as well as documentaries, documentary series, books and many side projects.

Today (Monday) the band announced a new adventure, in the form of "Studio 666" - a new comedy horror film starring them.

Grohl and his friends filmed the film in secret at the Ansino mansion in Los Angeles, where they recorded their latest album, "Medicine at Midnight," which was released in February this year. The band members - Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Samir, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflet and Rami Jaffa will play themselves. Alongside them, the cast includes names like comedian Whitney Cummings ("Impoverished"), Leslie Grossman ("American Horror Story"), Will Forte ("Saturday Night Live"), Jenna Ortega ("Iron Man") and stand-up comedian Jeff Ghrelin. The chair was manned by B.J. McDonald, who directed a number of horror films. The screenplay was written by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes, based on a story written by Dave Grohl.

"After decades of ridiculous clips and a number of documentaries on our resume, it's finally time to step up and release a full-length film," the veteran lineup said in a press release.

"Like most things we do, the film started out as a far-fetched idea, which blossomed into something bigger than we could ever imagine. It was filmed on the spot where we recorded our latest album. We told you that place is haunted."

The film, whose plot is reminiscent of quite a few horror films (with the addition of a musical twist), will tell the story of a famous rock band, whose members spend time and live in a haunted castle in order to record their tenth album.

In the process of preparing the album, they discover that their workplace and accommodation are haunted by supernatural spirits and forces, and are forced to deal with a reality they did not know before.

"Studio 666" is scheduled for release on February 25, 2022 and is slated for distribution and screening in more than 2,000 U.S. theaters, as well as for international distribution.
