The municipality of Apfeldorf has purchased six ventilation and air conditioning systems for the elementary school and kindergarten.
With these devices, the room air is continuously exchanged and not just circulated.
The devices are already on site and should be installed immediately - first in school and then in daycare.

- "We are one of the first kindergartens to receive such high-quality ventilation systems," emphasized kindergarten director Tanja Annabalini when the devices were now delivered. "I am very happy that our mayor Gerhard Schmid has done so much for these systems."
Two systems will be installed in the kindergarten and four devices in the individual classrooms of the elementary school.
The systems cost a total of around 82,500 euros.
However, 80 percent of this goes away, so that in the end only costs of 16,500 euros remain for the community.
The systems would be funded by BAFA (Federal Office for Economics and Export Control), said Mayor Schmid.
In contrast to the frequently purchased air purifiers, the air conditioning systems are real ventilation systems.
"There is a constant exchange of air, which creates a better indoor climate, which is also much better for learning," explained Schmid.
Better indoor climate not only in times of Corona
The funding program for the ventilation systems was set up to prevent corona infections. But a better indoor climate is not only beneficial in times of Corona, explained the mayor. In the future, the kindergarten will be supplied with fresh air via a ventilation pipe that goes through a window and is connected to the room ventilation system. All you have to do is replace two of the previous windows with new Plexiglas panes with openings. A ventilation system will be downstairs in the gym, and one by the ladybird group, which is also housed in the basement. In the course of the last renovation work in the kindergarten, the community had already had a ventilation system installed on the upper floor.
In elementary school, the air exchange will not take place through window openings: instead, openings will be created through the outer walls.
This means that in future all children of the Apfeldorf-Kinsau elementary school will be able to study in well-ventilated rooms.
The air conditioning systems are also being installed in the school building in Kinsau: As reported, the Kinsau community had also decided to equip both the school and the kindergarten with ventilation.
