Iraqi sources told the pro-Saudi Al-Hadath channel tonight (Monday) that the assassination attempt on the Iraqi prime minister was carried out by militias belonging to Iran.
Among other things, it was reported that the UAVs were launched south of Baghdad, in an area controlled by Iraqi Hezbollah militias and the Revolutionary Guards since 2014. It was also noted that the Revolutionary Guards set up a facility for the production of UAVs and rockets in the area, along with a greenhouse for growing drugs. .

The source also revealed to al-Haddad that the drones fired from the same Iran-controlled area at the Iraqi prime minister's residence were Iranian-made and carried Iranian missiles.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Hezbollah battalions said in the Lebanese network al-Myadin that the first beneficiary of the assassination attempt was al-Khajimi himself and that it was a forgery of the assassination.
He said the idea of al-Khazimi being re-appointed prime minister was unrealistic because he was rejected by most of Iraq's political elements.
Earlier in the day, Iranian and Arab media reported that Quds Force commander Ismail Kaani had visited Iraq a few hours after the assassination attempt in an attempt to "calm the winds."
It was further alleged that he met with the Iraqi prime minister.
It was also reported that the commander of the Quds Force met with senior members of the pro-Iranian Shiite militias and talked about the need to calm the winds and stop the violence.
According to the Al-Arabiya network, Kaani is expected to visit Najaf, one of the holiest cities for Shiites, tomorrow.
