With the start of the work week in Azerbaijan today (Monday), the country began celebrating the year of the liberation of Carbach at the end of the Second World War.

Many parades and events are expected to take place in the coming days, with the highlight being Thursday - the end of the war.

With the opening of the celebrations, the gratitude of the Azerbaijani government and its citizens to the State of Israel for the strong relationship during the Second Carbach War and long before it immediately stood out, which did not weaken and even strengthened following Iranian claims in recent months against the extraordinary relationship between Jerusalem and Baku.

"Relations between Israel and Azerbaijan are not based solely on words, but are strategic," said one of the country's most powerful officials, Hikmət Hacıyev, aide to President Ilham Aliyev's foreign policy.

"We understand each other," Hajib stressed, adding: "I think the basis for these relations between the two countries is the connection between the peoples. Israel-Azerbaijan relations are based on a historical understanding of the situation." Subsequently, President Aliyev's aide also stung Iran, which was recently revealed to have invaded Azerbaijan during the Second Carbach War - in order to help its strategic partner Armenia. "Some countries are interested in harming the partnership and cooperation between us and Israel," Hajib noted. "But the stable relationship with Azerbaijan is in the interest of the Jewish people all over the world."

As part of the many celebrations today, senior members of the Jewish community from all streams in Azerbaijan - including the mountain Jews and the Ashkenazi Jews - blew the shofar to mark the celebrations.

President Aliyev's aide said of them that "representatives of different cultures and peoples have been living in Azerbaijan for centuries. We are proud that the Jews living in Azerbaijan, as well as Jews living all over the world, are helping us greatly."

As part of a march that took place today in Baku and was intended, among other things, to honor the great friends of Azerbaijan, the Israeli flag was hoisted in front of it - alongside the flags of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan.

"When Israelis come to Azerbaijan, they see our approach regarding Israel and how Israeli flags are hoisted all over the country," Hajib continued.

"It comes from the heart and sincere desire of the citizens of Israel to express their appreciation for the relationship with the State of Israel and the Israeli people."

Senior Azerbaijan concluded: "We have wonderful common understandings and excellent international diplomatic relations. Israel is one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence, shortly after our declaration of independence."
