Bayrischzell - Bayrischzell is planning new offers for cross-country skiing.
In addition to a kiosk, there should also be permanent toilets and more cross-country trails to Austria.
Cross-country skiing is enjoying increasing popularity in Bayrischzell.
That is why the municipality has repeatedly invested in the cross-country skiing infrastructure in the past.
In the most recent meeting of the municipal council, the committee decided in favor of a kiosk, new toilets and an adjustment of the cross-country ski trail compensation for property owners.
The head of the tourist information, Stephanie Hintermayr, informed the Bavarian town council about the upcoming cross-country skiing season in cooperation with the trail committee.
Small pilot projects in the field of gastronomy, for example with a food truck, have already been organized on the Stocker in recent years.
Kiosk only in winter during cross-country skiing
The wish now would be to be able to use the start and finish house of the ski club on the Stocker as a kiosk for snacks and drinks.
A water and electricity connection are required for this.
According to Stephanie Hintermayr, the Lower Nature Conservation Authority has already given the green light and talks are ongoing with the property owners.
"Without running water we can't even sell a sausage roll there," explained Mayor Georg Kittenrainer.
He emphasized that this kiosk should be a small restaurant, anyway only in winter during the cross-country skiing season.
Dixi toilets as alternatives
It is different with the planned toilets.
Bayrischzell in the Ursprung Valley needs this just as urgently in summer.
But a quick installation of permanently installed toilets on the Stocker is no longer possible this season due to the lack of sewage disposal facilities.
The municipality of Bayrischzell will be installing Dixi toilets again this year.
The local councils commissioned Stephanie Hintermayr to find a suitable location, for example at the Stocker car park or at the cross-country ski run hall at Schweren Gatter.
Cross-country ski trail compensation adjusted
In addition, the committee decided to organize the digging work for water and electricity for the kiosk operation in-house with the building yard.
It was also decided to adjust the flat-rate fee for cross-country skiing trails.
The compensation rates for the use of the property with cross-country skiing trails were last adjusted in April 2011.
The local councils unanimously decided to adjust the cross-country ski trail compensation: a flat rate of 50 euros for the first 200 meters and an additional 20 cents for each additional meter.
In future, these amounts will have to be regularly adjusted every five years based on the consumer price index for Germany.
Cross-country skiing project with Austria
Finally, Stephanie Hintermayr reported on the status of the cross-border Interreg trail project to Tyrol.
An inauguration with a fun race is planned for January, which had to be canceled due to the coronavirus.
"The Austrians are very enthusiastic about it," said Stephanie Hintermayr.
The next section of the route is already planned for this winter.
This winter it can be groomed up to the driveway to the Ackernalm.
The cooperation with the Tyroleans works very well, according to Hintermayr.
The Austrian part of the trail is also groomed by the municipality of Bayrischzell.
