Senior Iraqi security officials told Reuters today (Monday) that according to findings from the scene of the assassination attempt on Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi, it was carried out by a pro-Iranian militia.
Findings at the scene of the attack, which took place yesterday at the official residence of Prime Minister al-Kazimi, indicate that the drones used by the attackers were made in Iran and apparently transferred by a Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards to one of Tehran's loyal militias in Iraq.
It was further reported that the explosive found in the arena is compatible with that used by Iran for "suicide" aircraft.
Suspicion a-Shaabi, the umbrella organization of pro-Iranian militias in Iraq, declined to comment on Reuters' request as did other organizations that did not respond to allegations of involvement in the assassination.
A spokesman for the Hezbollah Brigades yesterday mocked Prime Minister al-Qaazimi and said that "no one in Iraq would want to spend a UAV on this man's house."

Prime Minister Al-Kazimi himself delivered a speech today declaring that the identities of the perpetrators of the attack on his home are known and that their identities will soon be revealed.
"We will pursue those who carried out this cowardly attack. We will reveal their identities to the eyes of all and bring them to justice," he said.
