On the eve of Emmanuel Macron's intervention on the health situation, and while the health system is going through a major crisis, the government is revising its copy upwards.
The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, announced Monday a significant financial extension to allow the hospital to complete the end of the year.

This will make it possible to pay an additional 1.1 billion euros in compensation for the additional costs related to Covid to the players in the system, including 800 million for health establishments (screening tests, vaccination campaign, etc.), 200 million to nursing homes and 100 million euros through a contribution from the regional intervention fund.
This additional expenditure brings the national health insurance expenditure target (Ondam) to 238.8 billion euros in 2021.
Ondam will also be increased by 500 million euros in 2022, added the Minister in charge of Public Accounts Olivier Dussopt, indicating that the government would table amendments to take into account
"the revision of macroeconomic assumptions".

At the same time, the Prime Minister announced the extension of the salary increases granted during the Health Segur to some 20,000 additional caregivers, in establishments for disabled people financed by the departments.
