Greek Foreign Ministry confirms Turkey's continued aggression in the region

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias reiterated that Turkey continues its violent behavior in the eastern Mediterranean and continues its threats against Greece, rejecting the basic principles of international law.

The Italian Aki news agency quoted Dendias as saying in a press statement following a meeting with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio in Rome that Ankara is also making threats against the Republic of Cyprus, a member state of the European Union.

Dendias considered that these threats are directed against the European Union as a whole and Italy as an important Mediterranean country.

The Greek government had previously confirmed that the Turkish regime lacks credibility and transparency and always seeks to inflame tensions in the region.

Differences between Greece and Turkey escalated after the Turkish regime continued its provocative moves in the eastern Mediterranean and announced a new plan to explore near the Greek island of Kastelirizo, while Greece repeatedly warned that the Turkish regime’s provocations could lead to a comprehensive crisis between the European Union countries and this regime that seeks to control the region’s resources nature in the eastern Mediterranean.
