Crashing fireworks with gunpowder smoke have fallen out of time, says the Rottach councilor Thomas Tomaschek (Greens).

That is why he is now submitting an application for a ban with his party.

Rottach-Egern - Together with his party comrade Alexander von Schoeler, Tomaschek wants to enforce a ban on fireworks in the Tegernsee landscape protection area and the surrounding area to protect nature.

At its next meeting on Tuesday, November 9th, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Seeforum, the municipal council will deal with the relevant application.

The appeal of all valley communities is already valid to refrain from private fireworks. For Tomaschek, however, this is not enough. A ban enshrined in the regulation creates a legal basis for rejecting fireworks, says Tomaschek. The community of Kreuth has already approved an identical proposal from the Greens in the Tegernsee Valley.

The aim of the Greens is to win over all communities in the valley to a general ban on fireworks.

In individual cases, for example for the sea festivals, fireworks could still be approved by the district office, according to the application.

But even at sea festivals, Greens spokesman Tomaschek thinks it is worth considering offering drone shows instead of the traditional fireworks.

“They are beautiful,” says Tomaschek.

In view of the basin location, a ban on fireworks only makes sense if all the communities around the lake go along with it: "We are a valley."

Municipal council meeting in Rottach-Egern: Several development plans are up for debate

The meeting of the municipal council continues, among other things, about a cycle path in the Seeforum area.

Status reports on the new construction of the community halls in Ellmösl and the toll house with public toilets in Enterrottach are also on the agenda.

Further topics are the enactment of a statute for outdoor advertising facilities as well as the change of the development plans "Malerwinkel / Seestraße / Fürstenstraße", "Ulrich-Stöckl / Nördliche and Südliche Hauptstraße / Reiffenstuel- and Schildensteinweg" and "Kobell- / Froumund- / Ganghofer- and Otkarstraße" .
