The Ministry of Health announced the final results of the early detection campaign for breast cancer that it implemented in October. According to figures obtained by SANA, the campaign reached more than 245,000 women, and directed about 590 of them for advanced examinations.
Head of the Reproductive Health Department at the Ministry, Dr. Alaa Arksousi, told SANA that the breast examinations conducted as part of the awareness campaign reached 245,621 women in various governorates, including 3160 mammograms.
Dr. Arksousi confirmed that the Ministry continues to provide early detection services for breast cancer throughout the year within its health centers and a number of its hospitals.
The Pink Month campaign included seminars, awareness lectures, clinical examinations, and ultrasound scans for women over the age of 20, and mammograms for those over 45 years old.
