“Hurray, we're still alive” is the motto of the PiPaPo festival, which the cultural association is now organizing for the tenth time.

It starts magically on November 17th.

Gelting - The conditions for holding events are currently very poor for many clubs.

The Isar-Loisach Cultural Association (KIL) is no different.

Despite the worsening corona infection and the ambush cultural stage, which was in great need of renovation, the voluntary members decided to hold the 10th PiPaPo Festival - the abbreviation stands for brush, timpani and poetry.

"The organization is a feat," said Sonja Frank, impressed.

The Vice Mayor, representing the city of Geretsried, together with the Wolfratshauser Caritas homeless representative Ines Lobenstein and the two ambush livestream technicians Thorsten Thane and Hendrik Noeller, took over the patronage for the series of events that has been taking place since 2012.

A total of twelve events planned

"Back then we had almost no money to put together a program," recalled KIL board member Andrea Weber during a press conference.

The city of Geretsried alone is now providing 10,000 euros.

In addition, the Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen supports the festival with 1,500 euros.

Further sponsors are Isar department store manager Fredrik Holthaus and the catering company Schmid-Bäck '.

In view of the uncertain development of the pandemic, it has not yet been determined whether and how many viewers will be admitted to the twelve events (see box for the program). "If necessary, we can only make live streams like last year," fears KIL boss Assunta Tammelleo. The virtual audience then has the opportunity to donate to artists and technicians via a PayPal button. In the past few months, donations have also been made to the victims of the flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia as well as to the oriental helpers of the Munich cabaret artist Christian Springer.

The PiPaPo motto "Hurray, we're still alive", borrowed from the Italian singer Milva, who died this year, testifies to the unshakable optimism of the organizers, who are not slowed down by water damage on the cultural stage.

"We'll keep going here until we crash through the floor," Tammelleo practiced in gallows humor.

The program

With the “Hexeneinmaleins” the magician Andreas Maier will open the PiPaPo festival on Wednesday, November 17th, in the culture stage ambush.

The summer night comedy “No alcohol…” (November 18) and a concert by Claudia Sommer & Band (November 19) will follow at the same venue.

One day later, the cabaret artist Josef Brustmann and the actress Marianne Sägebrecht present “Death songs for life” (November 20).

Further highlights are the appearance of the women's trio “Hanika, Straub, Banez” (November 25th), a concert by the cover band Gaudibox (November 26th), the premiere of Dominik Halamek's dance theater piece “Malala” (November 27th), a Sunday matinee by Konstantin Wecker Brothers Mayrhofer (November 28, 11 a.m.) and a film evening for the 100th birthday of the writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt (December 2).

Outside the cultural stage, there are two fabric printing workshops in the workshop of the “Nagel & Faden” association on Geretsrieder Bunsenweg (20 and 21 November), a Freddie Mercury Queen film evening in the Wolfratshauser Kino (24 November, 7.30 p.m.) as well as a choir workshop by the Siren Choir on the Geltinger Dorfplatz (November 28th, 1pm).

The Sunday matinee with cabaret artist Gerhard Polt, originally planned for December 5th, will be postponed to the coming year.

All ambush evening events start at 8 p.m.
