Marktoberdorf - It seemed to be a normal Monday morning and the students of the Marktoberdorfer Gymnasium as well as the adjoining middle and high school made their way to class. But they did not get into the building. A larger contingent of police gathered the children and young people to lead them away from the building. Because according to the police, a letter had been found in the morning in which a hitherto unknown person threatened the high school.
An employee of the Kreisbote editorial team witnessed the event: "The hectic rush was palpable, emergency vehicles were constantly rushing up, including civil ones."
However, there is no danger to be assumed.
Nevertheless, the officials reacted before school started and cordoned off the entire school area.
After the high school had been searched, the investigators gave the all-clear at 8.45 a.m.
According to the police report, lessons were only released again shortly afterwards, in consultation with the management of the high school.
The spokesman asked for understanding of the investigative work.
A total of around 60 emergency services from the Marktoberdorf police station and the surrounding departments were on duty under the leadership of the police headquarters in Kempten.
The Kripo took over the investigation.
The police warn that such threats can constitute a criminal offense of “disturbing the public peace by announcing criminal offenses”, which carries a heavy penalty.
In addition, the author can be charged the costs of the police operation.
