Laura Chinchilla, former president of Costa Rica, believes that the presidential elections in Nicaragua are taking place at a point where Latin America is not coordinated in terms of political dialogue, and that President Daniel Ortega takes advantage of this situation to challenge the resolutions of the Organization of the American States (OAS).

Chinchilla adds that Nicaragua has neither the wealth nor the political polarization that there is in Venezuela.
