The questioned president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated his Nicaraguan counterpart Daniel Ortega on the elections that took place in his country.
He even described them as a "day of peace."
"We send greetings to the people of Nicaragua, we congratulate them hand in hand for this day of peace, of participation. To vote in Nicaragua, to vote in Venezuela is to take a step towards peace," said Maduro.
