After the end of the autumn holidays, due to the exploding number of corona infections *, the obligation to wear a mouth and nose cover also applies to the seat temporarily - regardless of any minimum distances.

For elementary school students, the requirement applies to one week, they are allowed to use everyday masks made of fabric.

At secondary schools,

medical "surgical masks" are compulsory for at least two weeks.

It was not until the beginning of October that the mask requirement on the square was lifted.

But the number of corona infections has recently risen so sharply that the state government decided on new regulations not only in the school sector during the autumn holidays in order to curb the drastic development.

"Our top priority this school year is face-to-face teaching, and it will continue to do so," said Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) after the decisive cabinet meeting.

For this, the safety fences would be continuously raised, in this specific case with the temporary mask requirement.

By the way, these are adhered to by the students excellently, praised Piazolo - as well as the distance and hygiene rules.

First day of school after the autumn break in Bavaria: Minister of Education calls for self-tests

Bavaria's minister of education appealed to all parents to test themselves and their children before the first day of school after the holidays.

Because at the elementary and special schools, where the children are checked for infection twice a week with pool tests *, the result of the first test is only available on Monday evening.

The older age groups test themselves three times a week in Bavaria with a self-test.

If an infection is discovered, all children or adolescents in the class should be tested daily.

In the week before the autumn vacation, i.e. in the last week of October, the incidence * among 6 to 11 year olds in Bavaria was 566, and among 12 to 15 year olds it was 535.

According to the data from the State Office for Health and Food Safety, 433 out of 100,000 young people of 16 to 19-year-olds were infected within seven days.

Of the 12 to 17-year-olds, almost 40 percent were recently fully vaccinated; there is currently no vaccination recommendation for younger people.
