2021-11-08T16:50:19.266Z

The man who led Bournemouth from the English Premier League to the Premier League was appointed the first coach of the Magpies during the Saudi era: "This is a day of pride for me and my family, it's a tremendous opportunity, but there is also a lot of work ahead of us."

New coach for Newcastle.

Following the takeover of the club by a Saudi investment fund about two months ago and becoming the richest in the Premier League, the club's management decided today (Monday) to appoint Eddie Howe to replace Steve Bruce, who was sacked three weeks ago, and begin his work during the national holiday.

"It is a great honor to become a coach at the club with the history and status of Newcastle United," Howe said after the signing.

"This is a proud day for me and my family. It is a great opportunity, but there is also a lot of work ahead of us, and I look forward to starting working in the training complex with the players. I want to thank the club owners for the opportunity, and thank the fans for welcoming me now."

The main success of the 43-year-old Howe so far in his career has been with Bournemouth, who managed to move up from the fourth division in England to the Premier League in the 2014/15 season.

Now he will have to work hard to get the Magpies out of its predicament.

After 11 rounds, Newcastle have recorded five draws and six losses, and are below the red line, with only a goal difference between them and the last in the Norwich table.

Ready to get to work.
