In addition, two units for economic struggle have been set up for the benefit of the cause, on the understanding that fatal economic harm is even more daunting than criminal punishment and even years in prison. A senior police source said yesterday that in light of the success so far, the police are currently working to establish two more economic units that will act as an "economic punch" against the criminal organizations, until they are crushed.

Data released for publication show that since the beginning of the year, the police have employed 16 agents who have succeeded in joining criminal organizations in the areas of weapons trafficking, drug trafficking, gambling, sex offenses and fraud.

The data that reached Israel Today shows that in various activities that took place throughout the country, 521 suspects were arrested thanks to the agents, and 333 criminal cases were opened for drug trafficking and 152 criminal cases for trafficking in weapons.

The police claim that this figure is four times higher than in previous years, since in the cases of an undercover agent in recent years, an average of 35 cases were opened for trafficking in weapons. Yesterday a senior police officer.

The data also show that out of the 16 agents who have been active since the beginning of the year, seven of them have worked in criminal organizations in Arab society and were mainly engaged in exposing trade and using weapons.

As part of a comprehensive plan by the Ministry of Internal Security, an "safe route" has been launched in recent weeks, uniting all law enforcement agencies with an emphasis on economic ones.
