According to the decision of the Ministerial Committee on Legislative Affairs, only the Minister of Health will be obliged to attend the Cabinet discussions - and thus the Foreign and Finance Ministers will be exempt from participating in them.

Deputy Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman will not be required to attend Corona Cabinet meetings, the Ministerial Committee on Legislation approved today (Monday).

The decision was made against the background of public criticism that Lapid did not attend any cabinet meeting, although before the formation of the current government, when he was chairman of the coalition, he sharply attacked the Netanyahu government for its readiness to deal with the corona crisis.

This is a section of the new Corona Act, which defines who is the official who is obliged to take part in the Corona cabinet discussions, and which explains that only the Minister of Health is obliged to participate in them - and all other ministers are exempt from this.

This means that the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Foreign Affairs are not obliged to attend cabinet meetings.

The law further stipulates that the cabinet will include half of the members of the government, including the Minister of Health:
