Two Chinese astronauts have completed their extravehicular activities (Shenzhou 13) and returned to the basic unit (Tianhe) of the Chinese space station.
"The two astronauts Zhai Zhigang and Wang Yaping have completed their extra-vehicular activities, as this is the third extra-vehicular mission during the construction of the Chinese space station and the first by the (Shenzhou 13) crew, and it is the first extra-vehicular mission in the history of Chinese space includes an astronaut.”
During the mission, the functions of the new-generation spacesuits developed by China for extravehicular use, coordination between astronauts and the mechanical arm, and reliability and safety of supporting equipment related to extravehicular activities were tested, the agency noted.
And last month, China launched the manned spacecraft (Shenzhou 13), with three astronauts on board, on a six-month mission to build its space station.
